Courses Studying at St. Dominic’s Sixth Form: English Literature, Mathmatics and History

I chose St Dominic’s because I wanted to go somewhere that would allow greater independence. I like the freedom I have here of being able to decide where I spend my time outside of lessons and what I do.

English and History are my favourite subjects because I really enjoy the group discussions we have in class. It makes the lessons much more interesting and deepens my understanding of the topics we explore. One thing I love about St Dominic’s is the diversity and how friendly everyone is. Events like ‘Cultural Diversity Day’ really emphasise this and it’s so much fun to see everybody proudly representing their cultures. I’m also grateful for my teachers who are very supportive and always push me to reach my full potential. They are always willing to help and take an interest in not only my academic studies but my personal interests too. The facilities here are really good too; the library is full of great reads and a nice quiet place for independent study while ‘Study+’ is an area that allows you to work collaboratively. St Dominic’s also provides many opportunities to progress academically, such as subject-specific internati’onal trips, and the ‘Excellence Programme’ which has been a huge help in preparing for university admissions.
