At St. Dominic’s, we are incredibly proud to have been awarded the prestigious Investor in Careers Award in recognition for outstanding CEIAG provision since July 2015.

Across the whole curriculum, we strive to embed good Careers learning and employability preparation through a programme of Careers, Employability and Enterprise Education supported by impartial and independent careers information, advice and guidance.

We inspire every student whatever their background, gender, religion, ethnic origin or ability and provide them with information about the full range of post – 16 education, training, employment opportunities and routes; We encourage students to consider non–traditional careers and for their choices to reflect developments in the Labour Market and the requirements of employers and the world of work.

We are committed to continuous improvement, which we demonstrate through holding the Quality in Careers Standard and through committing to 3 yearly re-accreditation involving external quality checking and assessment. We ensure that our provision meets the requirements of the revised DfE Statutory Guidance ‘Careers Guidance and access for education and training providers’ and that we incorporate principles of the eight Gatsby Benchmarks for good career guidance (2016 & 2018).

The eight Gatsby benchmarks of Good Career Guidance are:

1. A stable careers programme

3. Addressing the needs of each pupil
4. Linking curriculum learning to careers
