Profile of the Chaplain

At St. Dominic’s, our lay Chaplain, Clare Castell, fosters an environment that nurtures both the spiritual and emotional well-being of staff and students. As a faith-based community, we believe that every dimension of a person should be nourished.

Our Chaplain is responsible for coordinating the liturgical life of the College to mark important seasons in the Church’s year, Mass is celebrated each week in the beautiful college Chapel.  Prayer is a crucial aspect of life at St. Dominic’s, with daily morning prayers and various opportunities to pray throughout the academic year. The Chaplain provides support to students on their spiritual journey, through both formal catechesis and informal discussions groups. We have an active interfaith group that meets regularly to share and explore faith issues together.

As a Catholic institution, St. Dominic’s has a passion for social justice and encourages students to learn about and engage with these issues. Each year, the College participates in the Westminster pilgrimage to Lourdes, where students and staff work with assisted pilgrims. St. Dominic’s also strongly emphasises the importance of volunteering and charitable work as a means of serving the greater good and a way to make a positive impact on the world.
