In partnership with the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM), St Dominic’s is part of the London Central & West Maths Hub. The Maths Hub provides a forum for the sharing of knowledge and best practice with an aim to further develop the expertise of maths teachers.
We are currently running a series of Work Group meetings with local schools to explore and develop pedagogy and practice within the new A level specification.
Some of our previous Work Group sessions have included utilising technology to improve understanding in A level Maths and developing pedagogy through Memory Retrieval and Cognitive Load Theory. We have worked closely with partners from the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (AMSP), Edexcel and Casio to share and discuss high quality resources and strategies to improve student outcomes.
