In July, 83 students from St Dominic’s travelled to Lourdes as part of the Westminster Diocesan Pilgrimage. Our students served as Redcaps, supporting elderly and infirm pilgrims visiting the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes.
Throughout the week, they assisted pilgrims at Masses, services and processions and around the sanctuary, as well as spending time talking with and accompanying those they were there to serve. Alongside their work, students took part in prayer, the Torchlight Procession and other opportunities to experience the unique atmosphere of Lourdes.
We were immensely proud of the kindness, compassion and maturity shown by our students. Lourdes is a very special part of life at St Dominic’s and gives our young people the opportunity to put their faith into action through service to others.
