As an expectant hush fell across the Library and Learning Centre on Monday this week, the assembled audience were treated to a dazzling ‘nip and tuck’ Chess final that saw Kabilaash Mathiyalagan grab victory at the last minute from his very worthy opponent, Eddie Man.  In a spell binding final the silent gasps from the audience were clear evidence of this being one of the best, most absorbing finals we have ever had at the College and, upon victory, Kabilaash was greeted with very warm applause from all present.  His victory will most certainly go down in the ‘annals of history’ here at St. Dominic’s.
