Record results at St. Dominic’s Sixth Form College

We are delighted, excited and really proud to report, once again, a truly ‘outstanding’ set of examination results for the Class of 2026 which have been published nationally this morning.  Congratulations to all our students who worked so hard to achieve some of the best grades in the country.  Outcomes across the whole College are up with some 38% of students achieving grades A* to A and 70% achieving grades A* to B.  BTEC grades are also up with 82% achieving merit grades or higher.

These results afford our students the opportunity to progress to some of the best universities and finest degree apprenticeships around the UK with over two thirds achieving the highest grades which is, most definitely, a tremendous achievement. 

Principal, Andrew Parkin, commented ‘A levels remain the ‘gold standard’ post 16 qualification globally.  They are, rightly, academically challenging and require total commitment from those who embark upon them.  I am absolutely delighted with what our young people have achieved today and indeed, over the last two years.  They have been a dedicated cohort of young men and women who have committed wholeheartedly to the ethos, mission and focus on academic excellence of St. Dominic’s Sixth Form College.  These are some of the best results in the 47 year history of our College and their fulsome commitment to their studies has paid dividends.  I pay tribute to them for their dedication and commitment and to my staff who have worked with and alongside our students, enabling them to achieve the very best grades and progress to university or into the world of work. 

We will miss them as a group of young men and women but are now excited for their futures and wish them all well as they look forward to moving on in September.’
