Tuition Fund Statement
The Mission of St Dominic’s Sixth Form College is to educate its students academically, personally and spiritually to the highest standard possible be that physically on site or remotely through online teaching and learning.
Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, we have had to overcome many challenges and difficulties in the last year which have included bereavement, staff and student sickness and the many physical demands of maintaining a full curriculum online in all subject areas.
Additionally, we have invested heavily in a raft of Health and Safety measures across the College site to ensure staff and students are as safe as possible as well as ensuring that we comply with stringent COVID-19 Safety and Hygiene regulations. This has cost the college in excess of £100k.
We have also invested heavily in the existing IT infrastructure at the College to support the online teaching framework and have provided for staff and students a range of equipment and devices in order to maintain continuity of provision. All students who have needed a laptop have been provided with one on a temporary basis.
St Dominic’s is appreciative of the support provided by Government and will be using the Tuition Fund to support small group tuition for 16 to 19 students in English and Mathematics who had not achieved a grade 4 or above in at least one of those subjects at this level by the age 16. We can confirm that all supported students are on an existing 16 to 19 study programme.
