The LLC (Library and Learning Centre) was extended and completely refurbished during the summer of 2015 and provides students with a modern, pleasant, and well-resourced environment enabling them to study independently and is equipped with a range of new study spaces and computers.

A comprehensive collection of books, online resources, e-books and journals are available covering both academic subject areas and extra-curricular interests to augment and develop students’ learning experience.

The LLC is open throughout the day and is managed by qualified and trained staff.  Students are supported with their research and information skills through a comprehensive induction programme, workshops and demonstrations helping them to become confident and independent learners.

The LLC is a well-used and valued resource offering students the opportunity to contribute to the student magazine, book club, feedback, to assist as voluntary Library helpers and attend visits to world-renowned academic libraries.

Careers Education, Information, Advice & Guidance

The Library also accommodates a professional, impartial and comprehensive Careers and Guidance service.  The College has recently been awarded the prestigious Investor in Careers Award.

The IiC standard is dedicated to improving students’ awareness of opportunities, raising their aspirations and working with them to ensure they achieve their full potential.

Students can access a range of information through books, leaflets and using specialist software on all types of careers, specialised professions and employment, scholarships, bursaries, grants and sponsorships as well as apprenticeship schemes.

The service delivers a programme of workshops, lectures and information sessions and holds an annual Careers and Higher Education Fair.

The HE & Careers Leader also supports students with their UCAS application and Personal Statements and professional guidance is available to those with other career plans.
