Remote Learning During Lockdown

St Dominic’s Sixth Form College has the following contingencies in place should the United Kingdom enter a national or local lockdown due to the current pandemic.

During periods of lockdown, lessons would take place, according to the normal timetable, live on Microsoft Teams.

Students’ attendance would be recorded as usual and progress would be assessed through contributions in online lessons, homework and tests. Where staff have concerns about engagement, our Student Services Team will provide targeted support and interventions.

Tutorials would continue as usual, as would ‘one to one’ meetings between students and their tutors.

Information regarding Free School Meals, Bursary payments and IT support will be provided at the time of entering a period of lockdown.

The College Chaplain (Dominic Cunliffe) and College Counsellor (Yvonne Sarratt) would continue to provide support to students who wish to have a confidential conversation with either of them.

Communication to parents and students would continue in the usual way via email.
