Lourdes Pilgrimage

Each year the College sends a group of students and staff to be part of the Westminster pilgrimage to Lourdes.  The application process opens in October and closes after the half term.  To apply, students need to email their responses to Angela in the chaplaincy to these 3 questions:

  • Why are you interested in participating in the Lourdes Pilgrimage this year?
  • What do you think you will contribute to the team and to the Pilgrimage?
  • Please describe your 'faith journey' so far (i.e. what faith background are you?  Have you been on any other pilgrimages/retreats?  If so, what?  Are you involved in your parish or local faith community?  In what way is your faith important to you?)

Here they work with the assisted pilgrims in many different ways to help them have a good experience.

Lourdes Testimonies

Lourdes ingrained a sense of faith in me by showing me the power community prayer and worship. It was humbling and inspirational to see so many people helping the assisted pilgrims and putting others first. The activities we did in Lourdes are things that we could all put into practice in our lives today.

Lourdes is great. You meet a lot of new people and get to really make a difference to a lot of people’s pilgrimage. I made a lot of new friends who share my religion which is great. It helped my faith as it helped me realise how important it is to me.
