Sports Update - March 2023

St Dominic's do the Treble in AoC League Matches

Well, what a Wednesday it was, with all our teams winning and signing off the season for some sports, in style. First up was our football team, who beat Berkshire Agricultural College, 2-1. A special mention to Krish Kerai and Matthew Panford for scoring the goals, and to Shane O'Hara for being man of the match. We currently sit third in the table with games in hand.

Our netball girls had their last home game of the season against Newham Sixth Form College. Whilst the first quarter started off a cagey affair, the girl's superior fitness and skill shone through with a 31-17 victory. The girls have one more match left next week, away to Newham, and we will finish the season in second place overall, behind a regional academy team. Fantastic work team, and a special well done to Christina Suthakaran for being the player of the match.

Finally, our basketball team played their last game of the season yesterday to Saint Charles Sixth Form College, in South London. The boys had a long journey, but it was worthwhile as they came through as 50-28-point winners. Man of the match goes to Zargel Adap for his excellent play. The team currently sits second in the division but some of the teams are yet to play all their matches.

I am so proud of the huge strides we have taken this season in forming teams and training regularly to be amongst the top teams in the AoC league. It has taken a lot of dedication from those players competing, and I am so pleased that the results show their hard work was worth it.

Well Done All!
