St Dominic's Open Day 2021
On Saturday 2nd October, St Dominic’s Sixth Form College enjoyed a very successful Open Day when over 4000 prospective students and their parents and guardians attended the Harrow-on-the-Hill site.
Prospective students had the opportunity to tour the College grounds, speak to staff and student ambassadors about the A Level and BTEC courses on offer and, most importantly, get a sense of what being a student at the College would be like. Some 200 student volunteers braved the wet weather to proudly ‘showcase’ their College. St Dominic’s offers some 27 A level and BTEC programmes, all of which were represented providing prospective students a real insight into what is studied on each course.
Guests were also welcomed by the Principal, Andrew Parkin who gave a series of talks throughout the course of the day focusing on the history, ethos and mission of the College and how students can take full advantage of all that St Dominic’s offer in preparation for university life or the world of work.
Joined by our Directors of Learning, Mr Parkin also highlighted the College’s excellent pastoral and spiritual support for students. Speaking of the open day, Andrew said “St Dominic’s is a very special place. Our ethos and mission permeates all that we do as an institution and I remain truly in awe at our student body each year at what they achieve and how they continue to inspire the entire community. It has been a wonderful Open Day and our current students have been true advocates of all that we are about as a sixth form college. We all very much look forward to welcoming our new intake in September 2022”.
