Leavers' Event - May 2019

St Dominic's Leavers' Event - May 2019
The Year 2 Leavers Service and Carnival was a most special occasion on Friday May 10th. Over 640 students and all the staff of the College gathered in the Siena Hall for a prayer service and awards ceremony that was hosted by Obed Mayamona and Nia Hope. In what was a most moving ceremony, we heard testimonies from current students Ali Reyazat and Temi Oladapo and the Principal gave an address, a copy of which is below. Nancy Conoboy, Assistant Principal, commented ‘The service and awards ceremony was a fitting conclusion to the students time at St Dominic’s and was in fact, one of the most moving we have had’. The awards were presented to a range of students for each subject and the Principal’s Award was given this year to Lucas Sheehan, a politics, geography and psychology student.
The ceremony captured the very essence of our College and was a very joyful occasion, particularly as the sun came out for the post service BBQ and Carnival. A very special day and one that hopefully the students will remember.
