The Catenian Public Speaking Competition Regional Final took place at St Dominic's with entries from a range of Catholic schools in the area. One of the judges was Dame Mary Richardson, former chair of the English Speaking Union. The two winners of the St Dominic's competition, Bushra Ashkir and Muntazir Mohamed represented the College, with Bushra taking second place speaking on the topic 'How guns make us powerful'. Dame Mary commented that 'the quality of all the speakers was very high, and they are all to be congratulated on a very impressive performance'.
