Congratulations to Zarina Bell-Gam, who has been selected as one of five students out of the hundreds who applied to be on the England National Team at the World Schools Debating Championships 2019 (WSDC) in Sri Lanka.

The competition receives media attention worldwide, with past editions being shown on Singaporean and Indonesian state television.  

The team, run by the educational charity the ESU, has historically been dominated by the top independent schools - this year we are proud to say Zarina is one of only two state school students and the only student from a non-selective state school.
