Trips Week - Aix-en-Provence
On the morning of Monday the 6th of February myself along with 5 first years, 3 second years and teacher of French Isabelle Fiori, ventured to Aix en Provence, a small but stunning town in the south of France. During our time there we all stayed with a host family and spoke as much French as possible and spent time with our families improving our French and learning true French mannerisms. Our 5 days in France were truly filled to the brim, including fantastic activities like a trip to Marseille; going to see a French film; going bowling; spending a day at the local secondary school; visiting beautiful galleries and museums - but I believe I can speak on behalf of the whole group when I say one of the best activities was experiencing a crêpe masterclass led by a renowned French chef: they were delicious!
In addition to the more relaxing activities, we all gained a lot of knowledge on Aix's super celebrity Cézanne (painter) visiting his art work, an exhibition at his museum and also his house. Despite our busy schedule we also had plenty of time with our families and also free time to explore the town for ourselves - we all fell in love with the beautiful area and formed great relationships with those we didn't know well before the trip. We wouldn't have been able to have this amazing experience without Isabelle, we were all very lucky to have her there with us and to be introduced to her lovely family and friends.
