This is an Asset Course intended for students wanting to learn French, Italian or Spanish from scratch and sit assessments in their own time in order to achieve recognition of their progress.
The four skills, speaking, reading, listening and writing are assessed separately, so you can build your own profile in the language.
There is the possibility of sitting assessments four times during the year, so you won't be under the pressure of an end-of-year exam, but will be entered for assessment whenever you feel confident.
Since this is a scheme recognised nationally, when you go to university or into employment, you will be able to progress from whatever level you achieved in College.
This course is also good for students who, having some competence in the language, want to get accreditation for it in order to improve their CV. Some of these students might also be interested in improving their command of the language and enrol in lessons adapted to their level.
