A Level Italian

Italian

Do you want to achieve a formal qualification that will give you a high degree of competence in the language along with an understanding of modern culture? You may already hold GCSEs that have given you a basic understanding of Classical Civilisation or other European cultures. If you have enjoyed this, Italian is for you. You will increase oral and written communication skills in Italian. More importantly you will learn to express thoughts and arguments and have practice in interpreting and translating.

Subject entry requirements: In addition to GCSE English Grade C… GCSE Italian Grade C

 

Exam Units:

 

AS

Unit 1: Spoken Expression and Response in Italian (10 minutes; speaking exam)

Unit 2: Understanding and Written Response in Italian (2 hours 30 minutes; listening, reading and writing)            

 

A2

Unit 3: Understanding and Spoken Response in Italian (12 minutes; speaking)

Unit 4:Research, Understanding and Written Response in Italian (2 hours 45 minutes; translation into Italian, essay and researched based essay in Italian)
