A Level Geography
geography

You will study a balance of physical, human and environmental topics.  You should have a lively and enquiring mind, an interest in the environment and current affairs, and a willingness to explore new ideas.

 

What makes Geography challenging is the range of transferable skills that the subject develops in you!  You will also be using communication skills when you describe, explain and evaluate what you know.

   

Exam Board / Specification:   Edexcel (8GE01/9GE01)

 

Subject entry requirements:  In addition to GCSE English Grade C, GCSE Grade C Geography.  If Geography not taken at GCSE, B in English and C in Mathematics.

AS

Unit 1: Global Challenges (6GE01)

Unit 2: Geographical Investigations (6GE02)

 

A2

Unit 3: Contested Planet (6GE03)

Unit 4: Geographical Research - choice of six topics (6GE04)

 

Coursework details:

 

Fieldwork and research skills are a key feature of both AS Unit 2 and A2 Unit 4, but all work is externally assessed by examination.
