A Level Drama & Theatre Studies

drama In Drama and Theatre Studies, you will develop invaluable practical skills through involvement in full scale productions and stimulating practical workshops.  There will be opportunities to work in design areas such as lighting, sound, set or costume design as well as the more traditional acting route.

You will be encouraged to formulate production ideas, based on stimulating plays and will have lots of opportunities to review live theatre.  Regular theatre trips will enable you to provide your expert verdict on 21st century theatre!

The course is an excellent foundation for any career involving personal, social and presentation skills.  It is a perfect introduction to a career in performance, whether on stage or off.  It also develops skills suitable for management, teaching, law and social work.  There is a cross-over to media skills as well as Art and Design.

Please note there is a high number of performance opportunities throughout the year (eg:  Performing Arts Evening and exam showcases) and a willingness to rehearse outside lesson time is essential.
