Business Studies at AS/A2 Level aims to develop knowledge and understanding of business theory and practice. The subject also encourages candidates to think logically and to develop analytical and problem-solving skills. At AS Level, the focus is on general concepts such as business objectives and the external environment, and examining the four functional areas of business activity: marketing, finance, human resources and operations. At A2 level, one of these functional areas is examined in greater detail, and the Strategic Management unit requires candidates to combine their business knowledge and analytical skills to evaluate problems related to business and change.
