Why Train With Us?

St Dominic’s Sixth Form College is a centre of excellence for A level and BTEC provision offering an extensive and interesting curriculum.  We have a long and sustained history of academic success, with the 2015 pass rate securing our place as the leading sixth form college in England.  We have highly qualified and experienced practitioners who offer a comprehensive mentoring programme to our trainees across all subjects.  The College prides itself on innovation in teaching and learning and to that end have a Teaching & Learning Team who ensure our practice is both progressive and effective.  Over 90% of our students go onto higher education, with 47% of those obtaining places at Russell Group universities.

The College is located on Harrow on the Hill offering beautiful grounds and first rate facilities.  We have five separate buildings, including a designated sports centre, music suite and a newly renovated library and learning resource centre.  The site and the expertise of staff lend themselves to a wide extra-curricular and sports programme which is well received by the students.   There are numerous opportunities for enrichment and a range of trips that are offered annually.  The students at St Dominic’s are academic and a joy to work with as a consequence of their bright, positive and motivated outlook.  Their engagement with the learning process allows teachers and trainees to share the love of their subject free from interruption.

At the heart of the College’s work is our Catholic ethos, stressing the importance of the development of the whole person.  We take very seriously our commitment to the common good, providing every opportunity for individuals to develop spiritually, morally, socially, culturally and academically and thereby make a valuable contribution to society.  The Religious Education and pastoral support programmes underpin the academic life of the College and play a pivotal role in ensuring the students’ success.
