St Dom’s Choir Slam!

We are hosting our first ever choir festival in our fabulous chapel which is perfect for acoustic choral music.

Date

5th July 2018

Location

St Dominic’s Sixth Form College HA1 3HX

Mission

To excite, enthuse and inspire students to take part in choral and a capella singing. To forge musical links between schools and foster excellence in performing and directing.

Guest Artist/judge

To be announced, we are in discussions with Beat Boxing Championship winners Grace Savage and Bellatrix of BURD.

Eligible

School choirs or vocal groups of between four and thirty singers.

There will be two age group categories: 7-11 and 11-18

Style

All styles of music and choirs are welcome. We are very inspired by a capella beat box groups such as ‘The Boxettes’ and ‘Burd’, but equally love a bit of pure Tallis or Mozart.

Accompaniment

Acoustic accompaniment or backing tracks may be used. We have a piano and an organ. Bring your own accompanist if you need one. Voices acoustic or amplified, you choose, just let us know. A Capella sounds fabulous in the acoustic of our Chapel.
